The North West Kern RCD has an ongoing annual clean-up project in Poso Creek to help alleviate some of the pressure caused by downed trees and limbs. When trees and branches accumulate in narrow stretches of the creek during heavy rainfall and high flows, flooding can occur when water is diverted out of the creek. CALFIRE has been very instrumental in helping to prevent this from happening.
